Engineered and designed to account for everything, the SPEEDPLAY platform combines a low-profile bicycle pedal with an innovative cleat design to create a truly advanced pedal system, giving roadies and triathletes of all levels a distinct performance advantage.
SPEEDPLAY transfers power more efficiently than the competition by removing material between the foot and the spindle to reduce system stack height and reward every effort, big or small.
By integrating a cleat with a lower pedal profile, SPEEDPLAY’s aerodynamic system platform decreases drag delivering faster ride speeds without increases in power output.
SPEEDPLAY advanced pedal system is the world’s only dual-sided* road pedal, simplifying engagement and creating a secure and stable platform.

SPEEDPLAY and SPEEDPLAY POWER Advanced Pedal Systems offer a full range of road pedals options for all levels of cyclists.
The Standard Tension Bike Cleat is dimpled and comes with an integrated cleat surround for an increased aero advantage. It's a race-level cleat built to handle the demands of the most powerful riders.
The Easy Tension Bike Cleat has a light-action spring for easier pedal engagement, offering a stable and secure platform for all-day riding comfort.
Speedplay Walkable® Bike Cleats are the first truly walkable road cleats. The integrated, rubberized covers stay on the cleats while you are riding. When walking, the covers improve traction and protect the cleats from wear.
Why You Should Use Clip In Pedals
Shopping for a road pedal system can be a bit daunting even for experienced riders. This decision can become more complicated if making a switch from a previous pedal system to a new one. As athletes, we are always looking for ways to gain an edge on our competition, an extra watt here or gaining an aerodynamic advantage there. Perhaps one of the solutions to these questions lies right under your feet.
Knee Pain? Common Pedal Solutions
Many of us have been there, pedaling along without an issue and then you begin to feel a sharp twinge of pain in your knee…now what? If you’ve ever experienced knee pain while cycling from either cleat or seat positioning, you are not alone. Knee pain is one of the most common injuries cyclists experience at one point or another.
Cycling Cadence: What is it & How to Improve Yours
Cadence in cycling is defined as the number of revolutions per minute (RPM) you complete at a given speed. The power you are able to produce on the bike is the product of torque (force on the pedal) x angular velocity (or your pedal speed). Based on this formula it is easy to see why an increase or decrease in your cycling cadence will directly impact the power you produce on the bike. While many cyclists will work towards their sought-after goal of increasing their threshold power, potentially a new benchmark could be to increase their cycling efficiency by focusing on cadence work.
Ask the Experts: Bike Fit for Performance
Whether you are purchasing a bike for the first time, or a seasoned veteran, one thing that will always remain an integral part of any cyclist’s arsenal is a proper road bike fit. Professional bike fits are crucial to not only performance but your comfort on the bike. When your bike setup is comfortable, this makes it easy to spend many miles in the saddle enjoying the freedom bikes give us. When we are fighting our cycling position, this can make rides not only uncomfortable and painful but cause a myriad of issues for you off the bike as well.
